10. Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 (1970)
The Super Sport (SS) indicated high-performance versions of Chevy’s conventional models, during the golden age of muscle cars. The SS is still available today as the Camaro SS, the recently discontinued SS sedan, and of course as the renowned Chevelle SS.
The Chevelle SS was in many ways seen as the classic muscle car, particularly with the series of massive V8 engines built into it. In 1970, the SS 454 debuted with a 454-cubic-inch (7.2-liter) engine. It stylish exterior combined with its big engine, represented the height of classic muscle cars. However, they soon died out, due to emissions standards and insurance companies.
